What Is The Warm Home Discount British Gas ?
The Warm Home Discount Scheme is a government initiative designed to help low-income households with their energy bills during the cold winter months.
It is only available to the poorest households for 2024.
Who Is Eligible For The Warm Home Discount ?
Households that receive the Guarantee Credit element of Pension Credit, or those on a low income with high energy costs, can qualify.
Discount: Eligible households receive a one-off £150 discount on their electricity bill. The discount is applied automatically by the electricity supplier.
Application: For most households in England and Wales, there’s no need to apply; eligibility is determined automatically. In Scotland, you may need to contact your energy supplier to apply.
Prepayment Meters: Even if you use a prepayment meter, you can still qualify for the discount. Your electricity supplier will provide details on how the discount will be applied
